Wounds - Five Artists in Five Rooms
The art rooms of the Michael Horbach Foundation in Cologne are showing the exhibition project Wounds - Five Artists in Five Rooms from May 1 to August 20, 2013. The exhibition brings together four prominent photographers and a painter. Each deals, in his or her own way, with the condition of breaking and coming to terms with injury, be it in their landscapes, portraits, or free paintings and drawings. The spacious rooms of the Foundation, a former depot for Cologne's mounted policemen in the 19th century, provide the ideal setting for the contrast of such different artistic positions. Coinciding with the exhibition opening, participant photographer Thomas Karsten received the 2013 Michael Horbach Foundation Award for Photography.
