Origins

Michael Horbach founded the foundation in 2000 after he sold his business consultancy firm HORBACH Business Consultancy GmbH with endowment funds of one million.

For the successful businessman the foundation offered the unique possibility to get involved personally and to contribute his part to social justice. “Helping people to help themselves” is the maxim which unifies all of the foundation´s activities and aided projects.
